Cabinet Office Policy requires that a DV Clearance be formally issued
Our screening process is robust, yet simple.
If you already hold a DV clearance you will be required to renew your clearance at intervals of no more than 7 years and more frequently if the risk owner has set a shorter validity period. Your sponsor will ini-tiate a DV renewal. This carries the same mandatory checks as a DV clearance but may exclude the ref-eree interview.
This must be managed as a risk and recorded for audit.
It is time-consuming to hire someone and it will inevitably slow down the process.
Re-screening employees reduces the risk to an employer. Re-screening staff reduces risk.
Healthcare Workers: Certain roles within the National Health Service (NHS) and private healthcare providers, especially those with access to patient data and sensitive healthcare facilities, may require BPSS clearance.
BPSS Checks can usually be done very quickly. The quickest they can be turned around is 24 hours but on average they between 3-7 days. However, Basic DBS Checks are subject to Disclosure and Barring Ser-vice (DBS) turnaround times. They advise that Basic DBS Checks should be completed within 14 days.
We can perform a BPSS on any UK employee.

It's important to note that while BPSS checks are a common requirement for roles within or associated with the government and public sector, the specific application of BPSS checks can vary depending on the organization, the nature of the role, and the level of security clearance required. Higher levels of clearance (e.g., Security Check (SC), Counter-Terrorist Check (CTC), and Developed Vetting (DV)) include all the BPSS requirements but also involve more extensive background checks.

BPSS Checks can be requested by any employer, even if your staff aren’t working in government areas. Many organisations choose to vet their employees this way as a matter of best practice. BPSS is simply a standard rather than a specific type of security clearance.
